Ambassador Mr. Delwar Hossain assumed the charge of the office of the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea on 28 September 2021. Prior to his present diplomatic assignment, he served as the director general of Myanmar Wing (2017-2021) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh.

Ambassador Mr. Delwar Hossain is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 17th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre. He served in various capacities in Bangladesh missions in Paris (2001-2004), Tripoli (2004-2008), Thimphu (2021-2014) and Beijing (2014-2017) in his distinguished diplomatic career.

At the headquarters, he worked for multiple wings in different capacities. He has served as the Assistant secretary (1998-2001) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh. He also served as the Director (2008-2012) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh.

He obtained his MBA from IBA, Dhaka University and BSc in mechanical engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology. He also earned a diploma in International Relations from the International Institute of Public Administration in Paris, France.
